Degrees that lead here — with the entrance & cost reality
Entrance: NEET-UG
NEET-UG draws ~23–24 lakh candidates for roughly 1.1 lakh MBBS seats. Government seats are inexpensive (often under ₹1L/yr); private MBBS commonly runs ₹60L–1Cr+ total. A strong NEET rank → government seat is the affordable route; state quotas and central scholarships help.
Entrance: NEET-UG
Same NEET-UG pool; ~27–28k BDS seats nationally. Government seats are low-cost; private BDS is often ₹20–40L total.

Nursing/physiotherapy seats are far more available than MBBS; entry varies by state. Government colleges are low-cost; private programmes typically ₹50k–2L/yr. Strong demand for graduates keeps the cost-to-employment ratio favourable.

Studying abroad for this path
Medicine abroad (US: pre-med→MD; UK: MBBS via UCAT)
Where: UK · US · Australia · Ireland · How: UK: UCAT + UCAS (a few seats for internationals; very competitive)
Costs: UK medicine ₹45–60L/yr; US route is the longest and costliest overall; Ireland ₹45–55L/yr. Aid for international medicine is rare — this is the most budget-sensitive abroad path.
⚠ To practise in India after a foreign medical degree you must clear FMGE/NEXT — factor that into the plan.
Dentistry abroad (BDS/DDS)
Where: UK · Australia · How: UK: UCAT + UCAS; Australia: Class 12 + interviews
Costs: ₹40–60L/yr in both; few international seats. Scholarships are rare for international dentistry.
⚠ Practising in India later requires clearing the Indian licensing exam.
BSc Nursing / Physiotherapy / Health Sciences
Where: Australia · Canada · UK · How: Class 12 (PCB) + IELTS; some need interviews
Costs: Australia ₹20–32L/yr; Canada ₹20–30L/yr — with strong post-study work routes. These fields have excellent post-study work visas and employer demand — the route can pay for itself.
